Upona, Goddess of Beginnings

To most, Upona is an enigma. Ever elusive, and rarely predictable, Upona truly represents the randomness of creation. Without a particular aim or bias, she is said to fuel the development of souls, so that they can soar back down to mortal plane to rise as mortals once more.

Being the Goddess of birth and rebirth, be it of man, nature or animals, she is a goddess of great worship. She has followers amongst all social orders and classes. However, druids are perhaps the most devoted in the worship of Upona, as she cares greatly for nature, viewing it as the one true origin of creation.

While less so involved in the mortal coils than the Mortal Triad, she values life, and is happy to give departed souls a new taste of life. Thus, she shares a close, if tense bond with Yngvild, and while she still lived, Hel.
If the Twin Valkyries were angels of death, then Upona was the one to give death purpose. It was a purpose that Hel was said to obsess over before turning on Yngvild. However, even if Yngvild were to blame Upona for the betrayal, she still values and respects the direction Upona gives the souls as they depart.
